Recruit Candidates for Internships & Full-Time Jobs
Log into our online recruiting system, eFriars to post positions for students and alumni as well as schedule an on-campus interview date, information session, or a resume collection. - Internships are a supervised work/learning experience that exposes students to the professional responsibilities of a particular career field. The student intern is the primary beneficiary of the relationship, while the sponsoring organization provides supervision, structure and evaluation. Internships occur in accordance with the academic calendar:
- fall semester (Sept. – Dec.)
- spring semester (Jan. – May)
- summer break (June – Aug.)
- Academic year internships are part-time, while summer internships may be part or full-time and have the following components:
- Juniors and seniors may pursue academic credit for internships. Students are responsible for the timely coordination of academic credit.
- A faculty supervisor oversees the academic learning components of the internship, while the site supervisor oversees the intern’s work, learning and performance at the site.
- A Learning Agreement is completed by the student intern in consultation with his/her faculty and site supervisors, and it is signed by all parties.
- Usually a minimum of 8-15 hours per week must be worked. In many cases, an intern can be paid and receive credit. It is the student’s responsibility to be fully informed of the details of his/her academic internship course.
- Paid internships are preferred, especially during the summer. Sponsoring organizations offering non-paying internships must adhere to the legal criteria established for volunteer internships.

- Employers post positions, students submit resumes and sign up for interviews via eFriars.
We will gladly assist employers in selecting campus interview and application deadline dates for both full-time and internship positions.
Information Sessions & Lobby Tables
Conduct an information session or host a lobby table prior to the interview day for candidates, or before the application deadline date to inform students about your opportunities.
This process is available to employers who would like a batch of PC resumes, but do not initially plan to interview on campus. Resumes are collected electronically and forwarded to employers by the deadline date.

The Career Education Center acts as a clearinghouse of internship and job opportunities and is not involved in the screening or placement of any Providence College student. The college expects all sponsoring organizations to comply with all state and federal laws and regulations, including but not limited to Title VII, Equal Employment Opportunity laws, Fair Labor Standards, Workers’ Compensation laws, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. The Career Education Center is a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), and adheres to the “Principles of Professional Conduct” for Colleges and Employers.
